The Butternut Valley Alliance presents On the Trail of Art, a free arts festival in General Jacob Morris State Forest, featuring works by professional artists and local schoolchildren.
This weekend-long celebration of art, nature, and community features a forest trail lined with work by student artists from Edmeston, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton, Morris and Laurens Central Schools, alongside local artists with deep ties to the Butternut Valley.
This year’s festival will be bigger and more dynamic than ever, with strolling musicians, poetry, and several three-piece bands performing throughout the weekend. In recognition of America’s 250th anniversary, select events and installations will reflect on this milestone. Art demonstrations will return, along with the ever-popular crystal ball treasure hunt.
Join us at an opening reception on Friday, June 12, from 6-8 pm at Dunderberg Gallery in Gilbertsville.
Admission is free, but they ask you to register for a time slot so visitors can be staggered.
