DESCRIPTION:Join OCCA for a guided winter nature walk at Gilbert Lake State Park designed especially for homeschool students and their families. We’ll explore the shoreline trail around Gilbert Lake\, taking time to slow down and observe the natural world in winter—looking for animal tracks\, examining winter plants and trees\, and noticing how life adapts to the cold season. \nAlong the way\, we’ll practice simple techniques for seasonal observation\, including using our senses to notice patterns in bark\, buds\, ice\, and snow; identifying signs of wildlife activity; and asking curiosity-driven questions about what we see. \nThis program is family-friendly and geared toward school-age children.
