SUMMARY:Earth Festival Morning Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society Member and Area Birder Bob Donnelly for the annual Earth Festival Bird Walk at 8am on Saturday\, April 20. Participants should meet at the Milford Central School parking lot at 7:50am\, near the Earth Festival Entrance. Carpools to Riddell State Park will leave promptly at 8am and will return in time for the 10am start of the EF Event. All are welcome to attend\, regardless of age or birding experience. The walk is expected to return in time for the 10am start of Earth Festival! Look for the DOAS exhibit area in the gym when you return! \nRiddell State Park offers a variety of trails from easy to moderate to intermediate\, that travel through acres of forested woodlands\, and wide fields and along the Schenevus Creek. Our walk should cover about 2 miles total of easy walking\, on a combination of flat to rolling terrain\, with some trails having slopes and roots exposed. Waterproof footwear is recommended\, water and sunscreen as needed. Restrooms are available at Milford Central School before and after the trip. There is a bathroom available at Riddell.

DESCRIPTION:Gilbert Lake State Park is hosting a self-guided Snow Moon Hike around Gilbert Lake. This event will go from 2p-8p so you can enjoy the day and hike around the lake after-hours by lantern-light and the light of the February full moon.  \nBring your sleds/snowshoes and skis if we have snow\, bring your beau for a late Valentine’s date!\nThere will be hot tea/coffee/cocoa\, cookies and s’mores!\nThe fires will be going in the Briggs all day so come on down! \nBring non-perishable items to donate to a local food bank and enter to win a Gilbert Lake goodie basket. All non-perishable items welcome\, especially self-care items such as toothbrushes\, toothpaste\, bar soap\, deodorant\, feminine hygiene products etc. They collected ~400lbs at the First Day Hike event this year\, and are hoping to exceed that amount this time around!
