DESCRIPTION:Join the Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society for an eagle viewing trip around the Delaware County rivers and reservoirs. Open to the public. \nThe trip explores area rivers and reservoirs where eagles concentrate around open water in the region to feed. Past trips have turned up 20+ birds. Other raptors and waterfowl are usually sighted also. DESCRIPTION:Happy 2024! \nGlimmerglass State Park is offering a First Day Hike\, a 1/2 mile self-guided hike along their ADA accessible nature trail. The trail is a loop and returns back to the Beaver Pond Parking Lot. The hike starts at 10:00 AM and the first 100 people will receive a First Day Hike Giveaway. The hike ends at dusk. A Porta-Jon is located at the Beaver Pond and a Public Restroom is available at the Park Office if staffing allows. Self led walk. The trail might be snow and ice covered. Wear appropriate footwear/snowshoes for the conditions. Hiking/ski poles might be beneficial for balance.

DESCRIPTION:Wondering how to start 2024 on the right foot?\nCome out  for a hike!\nCelebrate the new year at Gilbert Lake State Park with your family\, friends and neighbors on Monday\, January 1st\, from 9am-Noon.\nWe will be stoking the fires in the Briggs Pavilion to offer a cozy space to warm up with hot tea\, cocoa\, coffee\, and snacks after your hike and we’ll have a fire going outside for marshmallow roasting as well!\nPlease remember to bring non-perishable items\, or personal care items to donate to the Martin Luther King Food Drive. This food drive is state-wide and runs until February 9\, 2024. Last year you all outdid yourselves from the previous year and donated 67 lbs. of food and care items to the local food banks. THANK YOU SO MUCH!\nWe will be doing a drawing at the end of the event for a complimentary Empire Pass for the 2024 season. Stop in at the Briggs Pavilion from 9am-12pm to enter for the drawing. Winner will be notified the following day!

While this is a fun event for those participating\, we are also raising funds for the Cooperstown Angel Network\, who assists families with demonstrated need in the Cooperstown Central School District. \nIf you are unable to race\, you can help in another way! Be an angel and volunteer for race Road Safety Patrol throughout the Village of Cooperstown. There are several major intersections on the race course that need help! \n\n\nRace Location\nThe race will begin at Santa’s House in Pioneer Park at approximately 9:30am with Santa himself giving opening remarks. \n\nRace Registration\nRegister at the Clark Sports Center or on race day from 8:00–9:00am at the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce (31 Chestnut Street\, Cooperstown NY 13326).
