DESCRIPTION:When you walk\, run or roll the Arc Otsego’s Hot Cocoa 5K or 1K\, you are helping make life sweeter for people with developmental disabilities! Proceeds benefit The Arc Otsego’s Helping Hands Fund which assists individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to seize life’s opportunities and overcome life’s challenges. \n  \nYou can sign up anytime between now and October 9th ONLINE at 4pm. Registration will be available in person at packet pickup\, and day of in the park. \nDetails: The 5K course will be fully in Neahwa Park! Two laps of the beautiful park will get you to our 5k finish. We are excited to provide a fully in the park course\, which provides better safety for runners\, walkers\, and rollers\, and more spectators to cheer you on! New this year: Runners and Walkers will start at the same time! Runners will lead the pack onto the 2-loop 5k course\, and walkers will start after runners have taken off for their one-loop course. \nRegistration costs are as follows: \n1K\, $15 \n5K\, $25 \nChildren under 5 free (shirt is not available) \n  \nRegister by September 13 to be guaranteed a shirt. \n

SUMMARY:Trail Work Day at Basswood Pond State Forest
DESCRIPTION:Join OCCA as they work on re-opening a portion of trail in Basswood Pond State Forest that was closed to logging. Volunteers are needed to help trim overgrown vegetation\, remove debris from the trail and cut and remove fallen limbs. Meet at the Jacobs Road parking area. Note that it is about a 0.6 mile walk to the work site\, and there is some hilly terrain. Please dress for the weather\, wear sturdy shoes\, and bring gloves that can protect against thorny plants. Equipment is limited\, so feel free to bring loppers\, hand pruners and hand saws if you have them. DESCRIPTION:Grab your Halloween mask\, rally the family\, and join us for the 26th Annual Cooperstown Halloween 5K & 10K! Choose the fun and festive 5K run/walk or double the challenge with the 10K. The scenic course winds through the charming Village of Cooperstown and is mostly flat\, with a gentle half-mile hill near the finish to keep things interesting.\nOpen to runners and walkers of all ages and experience levels\, this fall favorite features scenic views\, a spirited community atmosphere\, and a Halloween costume contest for youth and adults.\n\nThe race starts at 9:30am. Day of race check-in and registration will take place from 8:30-9:15am.\nLOCATIONThe race starts and ends at The Clark Sports Center\, 124 County Highway 52\, Cooperstown\, NY\, 13326. It is a moderately difficult course that travels the roads in the Village of Cooperstown. We will also teach you how to determine if a bird is migrating.
