The Village of Gilbertsville is in the Town of Butternuts and is west of Oneonta. Gilbertsville is a national historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and increased to the entire borders in 1982.

Start your walk at Five Kids Bakehouse and park anywhere along the street.

Follow the map and walk your way around the quaint town of Gilbertsville, enjoy the fall leaves, historic stylings, and end with a sweet treat at the Five Kids Bakehouse or dinner at the Empire House

Start your walk at the beautiful Otesaga Resort in Cooperstown, New York. Cooperstown is recognized by most as the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. But it is the delightful small town of rural traditions, restored historic buildings, and myriad cultural attractions that visitors tend to remember just as much. Located in the central region of the state, Cooperstown was settled in the late 18th century by William Cooper, father of novelist James Fenimore Cooper, whose novels were set in and around Cooperstown. The aesthetic centerpiece of Cooperstown is beautiful Otsego Lake, which author Cooper nicknamed the Glimmerglass.

Betty and Wilbur Davis State Park

Activities: hiking, winter sports, mountain biking, geocaching
Location: 133 Davis Road, Westford, NY 12197
Difficulty: easy
Distance: 2.7-mile loop
Fee: No entrance fee for day use

Andy’s Trail is a 2.7 mile hike that makes a wide loop around the park, traversing through the woods, across fields, and passing an impressive though crumbling old stone wall. In winter, the trails are suitable for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing as well as for fat bikes.

This 229-acre property was donated to New York State and is characterized by its hilltop placement offering views to the west, over Cherry Valley Creek Valley, south, and southeast. The park features a mix of rolling open meadows and forests.

Other Amenities, Features, and Activities: picnic area, grilling station, fire pit, information, map at trailhead, toilets (closed in winter), parking, camping, dogs allowed, vistas, fall foliage, handicap accessible, playground, birding, catch and release fishing.
