G.E.M. Sculpture Park
1 Commons Drive, Gilbertsville, NY (off Bloom Street)

The Gilbertsville Expressive Movement (G.E.M.) Sculpture Park features contemporary public sculptures set on 14 acres of park land in the heart of historic Gilbertsville. The park is open for visitors from 9:00
to 4:00 during the week and 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM on weekends. G.E.M is located on the campus of the former Gilbertsville Central School.
There is not a set trail–this is more of a “walking” venue than a “hiking” venue. Enjoy viewing the outdoor sculpture at your own pace.
Afterward, consider exploring the Village of Gilbertsville, which includes the Major’s Inn,
Five Kids Bakehouse (open year round for breakfast and lunch, plus coffees and wonderful bread!), and The Empire House restaurant. G.E.M. also offers community workshops, events and gallery shows to further enhance life in the Butternut Valley as well as artist residencies and internships.
What Octet-ers are saying:
7/10/22 “Google can’t locate the private drive that is Commons Drive. But the nice guy at the
lovely bakery on the main road (Commercial Street) into the village can. Follow the road to the left at the Flagpole and monument. Watch for the sign and gate on the right to the sculpture park and artist workshops. Sunny warm day fun to walk around and up close to large steel sculptures. A miniature version of the big sculpture park along the NYS Thruway- Storm King. Worth the drive down the beautiful Butternut Valley.”
6/27/22 “What a great place! loved the mirror sculpture.”
