										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Help with light maintenance activities at Arnold Lake State Forest or Basswood Pond State Forest. Tasks include trimming brush, tall grasses, and overhanging branches, clearing downed trees and debris, and improving walking surfaces. Activities will take place on a rotating basis in Arnold Lake State Forest in Hartwick/Milford and Basswood Pond State Forest in Burlington. <p>You will be notified of the meeting location a few days prior to the event. In addition, you will need to fill out and bring a completed <a href="https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/lands_forests_pdf/indvolunteerapp.pdf">Individual Volunteer Application</a> in order to participate. Please note that chainsaws are not allowed without current certifications in chainsaw safety; first aid, CPR, and blood borne pathogens training.</p>
<p>Volunteering at this event counts toward the Summer Octet, and makes the trails better for all of us!</p>

<p>Please join us in our spring cleaning of the gardens at Brookwood Point and getting the property ready for the busy 2022 summer season. All are invited to join in the outdoor fun of this community service event. We welcome those who can spend just a few minutes helping to those who can stay the entire duration. No gardening experience is necessary – there will be tasks for everyone to complete, from child to adult. OLT will provide tools, guidance, and refreshments. This event will be held rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Betty &amp; Wilbur Davis State Park, Glimmerglass State Park and Gilbert Lake State Park are holding events.</p>
<p><strong>At Glimmerglass</strong>, volunteers are needed to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Clean up and plant flowers around our historic covered bridge. Please bring: Garden Gloves</li>
<li>Pick up debris that has been left on our shores and beach after the winter.</li>
<li>Clean up debris and plant flowers to prepare for the summer season at the Nature Center</li>
<li>Clean out our bioswales in the main parking lot. Please bring: Work gloves are needed and if you have small clippers, they would be helpful.
<p>Registration is REQUIRED. All volunteers should come to our Main Parking Lot to sign in and receive job assignments. All ages are welcome. Please bring gloves and sm</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>At Betty &amp; Wilbur Davis State Park</strong>, from 9am to noon volunteers can meet at Sunset Pavilion and help with trail clean up  planting trees and flowers in the park.<br />
